June 18 - 20, 2009 - Steamboat Festival opens on the Peoria Riverfront.

July 3: Fireworks at Glen Oak Park.

July 4: Fireworks on the Riverfront.

August 12, 2009: 28th annual Taste of Peoria on August 12th at the Riverfront Festival Park from 4pm to 11pm. The Taste of Peoria is featuring over 40 local restaurants who will be offering a taste of their specialty foods. Come on down -- there's live entertainment on 2 stages for all ages!

August 30: Duck Race for the Center for Prevention of Abuse.

September 7, 2009 - Labor Day Picnic and Parade in front of the Fire Station on Monroe Street, and it ends at the Riverfront Festival Park. In 2008, the parade consisted of over 100 entries of various trade unions, etc. The picnic festivity ran from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Festival Park, and featured the West MacQueen Street Band, beer garden and food vendors. Stay tuned for the details for 2009!

September 16 - 19: Morton Pumpkin Festival. Try the pumpkin ice cream and cookies!

September 18 - 20: Oktoberfest on the Peoria Riverfront.

October 2 & 3, 2009 - Peoria Rib Fest & Chilli Cook-off at the Riverfront Festival park. Don't miss the Rib and chilli competition for amateur, media, professional, and political competitors! There will also be an antique car show and live entertainment.

October 18, 2009 - 13th annual Gospel Jubilee at Riverside Community Church at 6pm. You'll see performances provided by a variety of choirs, dancers and musicians from the community.

November 27, 2009: 122nd Santa Claus Parade in downtown Peoria. This is the longest running holiday parade in the country!

November 28, 2009: Festival of Lights Parade in East Peoria, Candlelight walk at Luthy Botanical Gardens.
